Dallas Soccer Club - Sports Field Manager - Grounds Supervisor Manager
The Dallas Soccer Club, located in Dallas, Texas is looking for a hands-on, self-motivated Sports Field Manager with strong turf and field maintenance experience for one of the premier soccer complexes in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping the fields game-ready year-round, communicates well with facility and league management staff, and can lead the turf management team.
The Dallas Soccer Club offers the opportunity to manage a high-profile youth and amateur soccer facility that hosts elite league play and premier tournaments.
The club seeks a candidate who will enhance field conditions and establish the Dallas Soccer Club as one of the premier facilities in the state of Texas.

Job Requirements
Experience Requirements
• 3-5 years’ progressive experience as a Sports Field Manager preferred
• Prior work as an assistant to an experienced Sports Field Manager at top facility(s) will be considered
• Previous supervisory experience required
• Experience with irrigation central operation and sprinkler heads
• Intricate knowledge of warm season grasses in particular: Hybrid bermudagrass on sports fields in a hot, arid summer climate
• Texas Pesticide Applicator's License
• Prior work as an assistant to an experienced Sports Field Manager at top facility(s) will be considered

Special Requirements
Essential Functions of a Sports Field Manager
• Supervising the maintenance and scheduling of sports fields and facilities
• Day to day responsivity of overseeing the irrigation system and proper moisture control operations
• Employee management and training
• Maintenance and repair of equipment used on sports fields
• Spraying sports fields for weeds, insects and/or disease
• Specifying and purchasing of all products and services
• Participating in facility planning meetings
• Creating a team atmosphere for maintenance staff to flourish
• Attend departmental meetings and training as required
Ensure Company and Regulatory Compliance
• Operate mowing and all other equipment in a safe, efficient, and responsible manner
Build Positive Relationships with the Workers
• Professional appearance and attitude, remaining courteous to fellow employees, players and guests of sports fields
Typical Functions of the Sports Field Manager
Assumes responsibility for managing and maintaining sports fields and facilities, which may include:
• Athletic fields (natural grass surfaces)
• Field management equipment
• Irrigation system operations
• Sports field lighting and sound systems
• Facility grounds, landscaping/ornamentals
• Spraying fields
• Parking lots and special game day parking areas
Physical Demands & Work Environment
• Ability to lift, up to 50lbs., and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects
• The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions
• Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position
• Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling
• Frequent repetitive motions
• Continuous standing and walking
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes moderate to loud
Employment standards Requires:
• Advanced knowledge of agronomy and environmental turfgrass management practices including pest/disease/weed management; an understanding of soil chemistry
• Working knowledge of sports field construction principles, practices and methods; and a thorough understanding of the sports governing bodies’ requirements for field layout and marking
• Ability to work closely with a turfgrass consultant on agronomic cultural practices, soil testing results & fertility recommendations, irrigation practices and chemical spray programs
• A high degree of administrative and executive ability, especially in terms of problem solving and decision making
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Knowledge of current federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting the management and operations of sports fields and facilities (including, but not limited to employment, safety and environmental standards, laws and regulations)
• Participation in continuing education opportunities such as seminars, workshops, web-based training courses, field days and trade shows

From $70,000 to $90,000 per year
