The Opportunity

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager/COO is responsible for leading all aspects of Club operations while preserving the traditions, culture, and exceptional member experiences that have defined Brook Hollow for more than a century.

The Director of Agronomy at Amarillo Country Club is responsible for the overall maintenance, management, and aesthetic presentation of one of the most prestigious golf courses in the country. As a critical member of the leadership team, the Director of Agronomy will work closely with the Director of Golf and the General Manager/COO to ensure that the course is maintained to the highest standards of playability, environmental sustainability, and member satisfaction.

This role involves the oversight of all turfgrass, landscaping, and grounds maintenance activities, ensuring that Amarillo Country Club’s course consistently provides an exceptional golf experience. The Director of Agronomy will also take the lead in long-term planning and capital improvement projects to enhance the course’s infrastructure and playability, while preserving the Club’s legacy. In addition, this individual will manage all related budgets and resources, develop and lead a high-performing team, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for the game of golf, a deep understanding of turf science, and a keen eye for detail. The Director of Agronomy will be a visible leader at Amarillo Country Club, engaging with members, guests, and staff to ensure that the course and its grounds remain a source of pride and enjoyment for all.
