Blessings Golf Club, located in Fayetteville, Arkansas is seeking a Director of Agronomy to lead all aspects of its agronomic operation, aligning course conditioning with the high standards of a nationally recognized championship venue. This opportunity emerges as the club seeks to elevate its agronomic leadership model and deliver a consistently premier playing experience for members, guests, collegiate athletes, and championship competitors. 

Club Highlights 

  • 2025 Maintenance Budget: $2.3M (operating; capital funded at the discretion of ownership) 
  • Total Annual Rounds: 12,000 (1–4 outside; 5 member events) 
  • Total Staff: 30 (22 full-time, 8 part-time) 
  • Typical Work Schedule: 
    • In-Season (March–October): Highly engaged, hands-on leadership presence; consistent early-morning involvement; support of 1–3 championships 
    • Out-of-Season (November–February): More balanced schedule focused on planning, capital projects, training, and long-term improvement 
  • Turf Types: 
    • Greens: A1/A4 Bentgrass 
    • Fairways: Cavalier Zoysiagrass with areas of Zeon 
    • Practice Tees: Cavalier Zoysia, Tahoma Bermudagrass, Latitude Bermudagrass
    • Practice Greens: A1/A4 Bentgrass, TifEagle Bermuda, Tif3D Bermuda 
  • Recent and Future Projects: 
    • Recent practice facility renovation completed in 2026

INITIAL PRIORITIES OF THE POSITION: 

  • Immediately assess course conditions and develop a plan to elevate overall presentation and long-term 
  • Align daily operations and maintenance practices with ownership’s expectations
  • Establish a disciplined, detail-oriented operational rhythm for the team 
  • Evaluate soil tests, nutritional inputs, and water management practices 
  • Strengthen team structure, training, and communication systems 
  • Review equipment, facilities, and agronomic processes for efficiencies and improvements 
  • Identify opportunities to enhance stress tolerance of greens going into summer
  • Begin long-range planning tied to upcoming renovation cycles and capital needs 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & APTITUDE: 

  • Lead and develop the agronomy team, fostering accountability, growth, and team culture
  • Deliver consistent, elite-level conditions across all playing surfaces and practice facilities
  • Plan and implement agronomic programs, including fertility, pest management, cultural practices, and environmental stewardship 
  • Manage a $2.3M operating budget with strong financial planning and forecasting
  • Oversee hiring, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations 
  • Maintain detailed compliance documentation and operational records 
  • Communicate regularly with ownership, the General Manager, and the Director of Golf
  • Oversee projects, improvements, and any renovation-related work 
  • Maintain all club grounds, practice facilities, clubhouse surroundings, and common areas
  • Ensure equipment, facilities, and storage areas are organized and well maintained 
  • Lead with professionalism, integrity, and a steady demeanor, especially during high-pressure conditions 
  • Continue professional education and stay informed on agronomic innovations, technology, and research 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Certificate, Associate, or Bachelor’s degree in turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, or related field (preferred, but not required) 
  • 4–7+ years of progressive agronomy leadership experience 
  • Demonstrated success managing Bentgrass greens in challenging climates 
  • Experience with Zoysia management and bermudagrass contamination control
  • Proven history of developing and advancing team members
  • Strong project management experience, including renovations and capital enhancements 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills 
  • High golf IQ and an understanding of course setup at championship-caliber venues
  • Commitment to continuous education, innovation, and peer networking 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: 

  • Salary: $250,000-$300,000
