ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
Employees of Bluejack Ranch ensure that the highest level of service is offered to the members and guests of Bluejack Ranch by providing them with personal, gracious and professional service. Under general direction from the Director of Agronomy, the Equipment Manager oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all Club equipment. This program includes the repair of failing equipment, keeping accurate records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment and service. The Equipment Manager properly communicates any needs or problems relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment to the Director of Agronomy. He or She will place safety as a top priority and is responsible for maintaining a clean service area and facility. As well as responsible for maintaining effective employee and club member relations while attempting to ensure the highest quality playing conditions for the members and their guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of the Equipment Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Diagnose causes of trouble without dismantling equipment
- Dismantle, repair, construct and maintain machinery and equipment with a high degree of skill
- Grind, back Lapp, face, set and adjust bed-knives and reels to ensure perfect mowing conditions
- Understand the operation and working parts of internal combustion engines
- Understand the working properties of such metal as brass, aluminum, cast iron, and various alloys
- Regulate, manipulate and control acetylene cutting and welding, electric arc, forge and other equipment with a high degree of skill
- Knowledge of dimensions and uses of standard nuts, bolts, screws and threads
- Mechanical and preventative maintenance of golf carts and chargers:
- Mechanical wiring.
- Brakes and steering.
- Paint and body work.
- Minor cart repair.
- Responsible for maintaining proper parts inventory.
- Proper storage of all chemicals, lubricants, etc.
- Maintain accurate record keeping of parts replaced, work performed and time spent on each piece if equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure carts are safe and mechanically sound
- Maintain equipment-detailing program.
- Follow budgeted guidelines in purchasing parts for equipment
- Maintain company vehicles and equipment with preventative maintenance programs.
- Comply with company safety policies and procedures to include accurate MSDS information.
- Responsible for scheduling maintenance schedule in line with the approved monthly programs and 90-day action plans
- Responsible for maintaining communication with the Director of Agronomy and/or Superintendent regarding all problems or member issues having to do with the condition of the golf course and employee relations
- Manage the organization of components of the Natural Recourse Management Center
- Execute the personnel functions of the department by interviewing applicants, training, evaluating and reviewing direct reports
- Follow fair progressive discipline and counseling procedures as set forth by the Bluejack Ranch
- Provide excellent member services, professional advice and assistance to all patrons
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times
- Be informed on, and promote all club activities and services
- Resolve member complaints and be a Bluejack Ranch ambassador at all times
- Attend all relevant operational meetings
- Support the Development / Club Customs, Culture and Rules
- Adheres to all federal, state and local laws regarding health, safety and employment continually upgrade knowledge of cart maintenance procedures.
- Work from oral instructions, blueprints, written specifications and/or sketches.
- Perform duties with due regard for safety of self and fellow employees while exercising proper care and protection of company property.
- Assist in morning equipment line-up.
- General special projects and additional duties as requested by Director of Agronomy

Job Requirements
• Warm season turf grass management a plus
• Knowledge of small/large engine repair, reel maintenance, electrical, plumbing and welding
• Ability to use grinding equipment and shop tools with precision
• Understand grow-in process
• Prior experience in high-end golf/country club or hospitality industry a plus
• Strong communication and correspondence skills with the ability to maintain sound working relationships and communications with members, management, staff, ownership, prospective buyers and vendors
• Good organizational skills and the ability to work well independently; attention to quality and detail
• Career oriented with strong commitment to the profession
• Professional appearance and presentation
• Requires excellent oral and written communications skills
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Excellent human relations skills, with a talent for motivating staff and members
• Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently as well as with a team
• Computer literate, possessing skills in Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Ability to function under pressure, set priorities and adjust to changing conditions
