Shipyard Golf Club is seeking dependable, hardworking, and motivated individuals to join our Golf Course Maintenance team as a Golf Course Laborer / Equipment Operator. Position Summary
The Equipment Operator / Golf Course Maintenance Laborer is responsible for operating and maintaining golf course equipment while assisting with the daily upkeep and conditioning of the golf course. This position plays a critical role in delivering exceptional playing conditions for our members and guests.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate golf course maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
- Mow greens, tees, fairways, roughs, collars, and approaches.
- Assist with aerification, verticutting, spiking, and other cultural practices.
- Participate in daily course setup, including changing cups, moving tee markers, and maintaining course accessories.
- Operate equipment such as tractors, trailers, turf vacs, aerifiers, pumps, and other maintenance machinery.
- Load and unload materials and assist with golf course improvement projects.
- Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance, cleaning, and inspections of equipment.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Support team operations and assist with additional golf course maintenance duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Mechanical aptitude and equipment operation experience are preferred.
Ability to safely operate mowers, tractors, and other maintenance equipment.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment is beneficial.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a positive attitude.
Interest in golf and golf course maintenance is a plus.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and occasional rain.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, stooping, and repetitive motion.
Ability to lift and carry materials as required for golf course maintenance operations.
Ability to work safely around machinery and maintenance equipment.
