Equipment Technician
Job Details
As the Mechanic at Shady Oaks Country Club, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all equipment and machinery in the turf department and related areas (pump stations, maintenance facility, etc.) as well as providing support to the property (club house & recreation center) in areas of related expertise (i.e., golf carts, electronics, etc.). This includes meeting established safety standards and adherence to the respective equipment owner’s manual specifications to maintain the proper working order and longevity of all equipment and machinery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Must be knowledgeable and capable of operating all equipment and machinery utilized by the turf department including tools and machinery needed to make related repairs or routine maintenance.
• Must be proactive in implementing and logging preventative maintenance programs for all equipment in the turf department.
• Must be capable of diagnosing and making informed repairs and/or maintenance of, but not limited to:
• engines
• tractors (gas & diesel)
• hydraulics
• electronics
• tools or equipment (i.e., blowers, weed eaters, chain saws, reels, bed-knives, etc.)
• Ensures safe work environment to include compliance with OSHA/WISHA guidelines and proper operating usage of equipment as defined in related owner’s manual specifications.
• Assists in the training of team members for proper use of equipment & machinery.
• Implements methods and procedures designed to minimize operational costs and maximize resources to insure the proper working order and longevity of each piece of equipment.
• Timely completion of repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure golf course quality standards are achieved.
• Ensures daily a.m. set up of all turf equipment.
• Daily communication with the golf course Equipment Manager regarding the status and condition of all turf equipment.
• Ability to make fabrications or alterations to new or existing equipment to insure proper working order and efficiency.
• Maintain adequate inventory levels of parts and supplies including fuel and oil levels.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• On course assistance to insure proper working order of all equipment.
• Daily implementation & adherence to Shady Oaks Country Club universal standards.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements
Thorough understanding for mechanical operations of engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
Basic understanding of irrigation systems and components related to best practices in consideration of agronomics.
Ability to follow company policy/procedures, complying with all administrative responsibilities.
Lift, reach, bend, twist, push, pull, squat, grasp and use arm-hand coordination on a consistent basis
Have the ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts (and associated noise levels related to) and outside weather conditions.
Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.
Be able to work weekends and holidays, mornings, and evenings as business demands
