The Powder Horn Golf Club is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Golf Course Superintendent to join our agronomy team. Reporting directly to the Director of Agronomy, the Golf Course Superintendent will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the golf course to the highest standards of turf quality, playability, presentation, and environmental stewardship.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Agronomy with the daily management and maintenance of the golf course and surrounding grounds.
• Lead and supervise assigned agronomy staff, including daily scheduling, task delegation, training, and quality control.
• Coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure efficient completion of work while minimizing disruption to members and guests.
• Maintain high-quality turfgrass conditions across greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and landscaped areas.
• Assist with agronomic programs including fertility, irrigation, plant protection, cultural practices, mowing, and turf health management.
• Monitor turf conditions and identify potential disease, insect, weed, irrigation, or environmental issues.
• Assist with irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records related to applications, weather, irrigation, staffing, equipment, and course maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable pesticide, fertilizer, workplace safety, and environmental regulations.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain a clean, organized, and professional maintenance facility.
• Communicate effectively with the Director of Agronomy and other departments regarding course conditions, maintenance schedules, and special events.
• Support tournament preparation, member events, and other special projects as needed.
• Help develop and maintain a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive golf course maintenance experience. Previous experience as a Senior or 1^st Assistant Superintendent.
• Degree, certificate, or formal education in turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, or a related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cool-season turfgrass management and golf course agronomic practices.
• Working knowledge of irrigation systems, fertility programs, pest management, and turf disease identification.
• Ability to operate and maintain a wide range of golf course maintenance equipment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to train, motivate, and lead employees effectively.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
• Valid driver's license required.
• WY Pesticide applicator certification, or ability to obtain one within 90 days.

Physical Requirements

This position requires extended periods of outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Candidates must be able to routinely stand, walk, bend, lift, and operate turf maintenance equipment and perform other physically demanding tasks associated with golf course maintenance.

Compensation & Benefits

• 80-85K a year depending on qualifications.
