Provides a safe and well-manicured golf course, which provides a uniform, consistent, and fast playing surface, governed by the rules of golf, for golfers of all abilities. Maintain aesthetically pleasing surroundings to enhance the golfer enjoyment during the game and to strengthen the quality of life in the City of Loveland.
The salary range for this position is $87,251.00- $126,515.00 per year with a hiring range of $87,251.00 - $106,883.00, depending on qualifications and experience.

Essential Functions:
- Effective golf course management of attractive, consistent, uniform and fast turf, especially on greens, tees and fairways.
- Ensures smooth and consistent putting surfaces.
- Ensures fair and level placement of the hole within putting surface.
- Develops and implements long-term tree program and natural area management plan.
- Effective and efficient use of water resources including the management of the entire irrigation system.
- Implements programs to cover safety, mowing, fertilization, aeration, pest and disease control, planting, pruning and other maintenance and enhancement steps.
- Manages and leads staff that works in a safe and professional manner.
- Trains and counsesl staff. Maintains complete and accurate records.
- Controls, advises and monitors expenditures and revenue projections of golf course.
- Provides information and addresses concerns.
- Participates on Golf Advisory Board and departmental requests.
Other Job Functions:
- Plans and coordinates in-house projects.
- Serves as inspector and resource person on projects that require an outside contractor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Level and Management Expectations:
Manager:
- Provides 2nd level supervision to professional, technical, and skilled employees to assure

Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Turfgrass Management or a related field required.
Experience:
- 5 years experience in golf course maintenance required.
- 3 years supervisory experience required.
An equivalent combination of education and or experience may substitute for education requirements on a year for year basis.
Certifications:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Certified Golf Course Superintendent preferred.
- Colorado Pesticide Applicator's Qualified Supervisor's license within 6 months of hire in:
- Aquatic
- Turf Pest Control/Ornamental Pest Control
- Industrial & Right of Way Weed Control
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Effectively supervise staff, plan, schedule and coordinate projects and activities.
- Work, troubleshoot, and fully utilize computerized irrigation systems.
- Communicate effectively.
- Calculate project costs and time requirements, reconcile expenditures and track budgets.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Frequent moderate to considerable physical effort that includes working from ladders in awkward positions. Frequent use of light or medium weight objects (e.g., 25-50 lbs) and use of medium weight tools.
- Frequent exposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.
- Occasional exposure to hazards that are predictable or well protected against.
