From athletic fields and open spaces to gardens, walkways, and wooded areas, our campus is active year-round and requires a dedicated team to keep it safe, beautiful, and welcoming. This position is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and appreciates seeing the direct results of their efforts. This is an opportunity to be part of a collaborative Facilities team and contribute to a campus where students learn, play, compete, and gather every day. This position involves outdoor work in all weather conditions and includes mandatory participation in snow removal and support during major campus events.

  • Assist in planting, trimming, and care of trees, shrubs, and flower beds.
  • Clear debris and maintain cleanliness of roads, walkways, parking lots, and outdoor areas.
  • Perform seasonal duties such as leaf cleanup, storm damage repair, and snow and ice removal using plows, blowers, shovels, and salt spreaders.
  • Support setup and breakdown for events, including athletic events, outdoor gatherings, and campus functions.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure proper use of equipment and materials.
  • Assist with the day-to-day maintenance of athletic fields on campus.
  • Prepare athletic fields for practices and events, ensuring a safe playing surface.
  • Mark and stripe fields according to sport-specific dimensions and regulations.
  • Mow and maintain turf grass to the specified height for athletic activities.
  • Implement aeration, moisture control, and top dressing to maintain safe sports field surfaces.
  • Assist with irrigation maintenance and repairs.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
