We are seeking a dedicated professional to help oversee the meticulous conditioning of our nationally recognized facilities, including our championship course and the only USGA-rated par-three course in the country, both designed by Hurdzan and Fry and opened for play in 2001. The Role: We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented leader to drive daily operations in a fast-paced, high-standard environment. You will work closely with the Director of Grounds, Superintendent, and other Assistant Superintendent to execute the agronomic vision for our championship and USGA-rated Par 3 courses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Direct daily crew assignments, training, and on-course supervision to maintain elite playing conditions across the championship and par-3 courses.
- Precision Agronomics: Oversee chemical/fertilizer calibrations, applications, and NJ-compliant record-keeping; ensure exact delivery through expert-level equipment setup.
- Water Management & Infrastructure: Manage and troubleshoot complex irrigation systems, including pump stations and field controllers, with a focus on moisture consistency.
- Project Management: Lead drainage, construction, and renovation projects from initial planning through completion.
- Strategic & Administrative Growth: Participate in budget development, agronomic mapping, and long-range capital planning to build the skills necessary for a Head Superintendent role.
- Equipment & Shop Oversight: Collaborate with the Equipment Manager on cut quality and reel theory while maintaining a safe, organized shop environment.
- Tournament & Event Prep: Execute high-level course setup for member events and championship play; opportunities provided for professional tournament volunteering.
- Professional Development: Full support for GCSAA/GCSANJ involvement, including dues and attendance at regional conferences and seminars.
