Internship, Tournament Experience and Housing Provided

Cherry Hills Country Club is looking for its 2027 class of interns who are eager to learn, work hard, and enjoy all that Denver, Colorado has to offer. Cherry Hills Country Club is home to an 18-hole championship golf course and features a 9-hole short course. The club was established in 1922, designed by William Flynn, and has hosted 14 championships. Champions include the likes of Arnold Palmer, Phil Mickelson, Birdie Kim, Jack Nicklaus and most recently, Nick Dunlap. The course consists of bent/ poa push-up greens with fairways, tees, and rough that are bluegrass/ rye.    

2027 is an exciting year for Cherry Hills as we have been selected as the host site for the 2027 Arnold Palmer Cup. This tournament brings together the best collegiate golfers from the United States (men and women) to face off in a Ryder Cup format against the best that Europe has to offer. Ample focus for the season will be on preparation and execution for this tournament.

Our goal is to provide you with the experience necessary to take the next steps in your turfgrass career. Expectations of the club and our membership are high, and we work hard to meet and exceed those expectations.

Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

·         Sprayer and spreader calibration

·         Chemical and fertilizer application

·         Water management, hand watering

·         Irrigation maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and improvements

·         Course set-up

·         Mowing of all playing surfaces

·         Aerifcation and cultural practices (verticutting, needle-tining, deep tining, topdressing, etc.)

·         Equipment operation on all machinery

·         Partake in projects and small crew management

Housing, lunches, uniforms and golf privileges are included in the internship as well as ample opportunity for overtime. Cherry Hills' agronomy team has great relationships with some of the premiere golf courses in Colorado and opportunity to visit/ play these courses should be highlighted.  A full-time position is available if the correct candidate can fulfill our expectations throughout their tenure as an intern and work well with our team.

Cherry Hills Country Club also offers the Palmer Scholarship to any employees currently enrolled in higher education. This is a fantastic opportunity for scholarship funds and can be discussed further during the interview process.
