The Irrigation Technician will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the golf course’s irrigation and drainage systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on irrigation experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining exceptional playing conditions.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate the irrigation system to properly water greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and landscaped areas.
- Inspect the golf course daily for dry areas, leaks, drainage concerns, and other irrigation needs.
- Monitor water usage and recommend adjustments to irrigation schedules and computerized control settings.
- Diagnose and repair irrigation pipes, valves, sprinkler heads, controllers, wiring, pumps, and related components.
- Perform preventive maintenance on irrigation equipment, pump stations, and drainage systems.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, water usage, rainfall, and weather conditions.
- Maintain an organized inventory of irrigation parts, tools, and supplies.
- Assist with watering-in fertilizer and pesticide applications under appropriate supervision.
- Operate utility vehicles, dump trucks, and other golf course maintenance equipment as needed.
- Assist the golf course maintenance team with special projects and general course duties.
- Follow all safety procedures and respond appropriately to irrigation-related emergencies.

Job Requirements
Previous irrigation experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, or a related field preferred.
Working knowledge of irrigation systems, including controllers, valves, sprinkler heads, pumps, hydraulics, and basic electrical components.
Ability to diagnose irrigation problems and complete repairs efficiently.
Basic understanding of turfgrass management and golf course maintenance practices.
Ability to operate golf course maintenance equipment safely.
Strong organizational, communication, and recordkeeping skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize daily responsibilities.
Valid driver’s license required.
Interest in the game of golf is a plus.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Ability to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and direct sunlight.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequent bending, lifting, climbing, stooping, pulling, and repetitive movement.
Ability to safely lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment commonly used in irrigation maintenance.
Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and additional hours when course conditions require.
Ability to use appropriate personal protective equipment.
