2027 Seasonal Intern

The Country Club of York is looking for Student Interns for the 2027 season. This position will give the student all the exposure they will need to become a successful Assistant Superintendent and ultimately to become a Golf Course Superintendent. The intern will report directly to the Green and Grounds Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendents. This person will aid in the direction and participation in maintaining the golf course greens, tees, fairways, and surrounding property as well as being exposed to all aspects of maintaining the golf course from course setup, pesticide applications, water management to managing small crews and everything in between.

You will also be exposed to golf course construction processes in regards to executing the Country Club of York's master plan developed by Golf Course Architect Andrew Green. These projects are completed by McDonald and Son's Golf Course Builders Inc. in conjunction with the CCY agronomy team. The 2027 project we will be completing an overhaul of two of our tee complexes. The scope of the project will be demoing the current tee boxes and shifting and building 3-4 new tee boxes on each hole along with the installation of new irrigation. The members of CCY are committed to continually improving the golf course and we are scheduled to complete at least one major project each year moving forward.

The Country Club of York has been chosen by the USGA as the host site for the 2029 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur and the 2035 U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championships.

This internship will give the student a great opportunity to build his or her resume. We are seeking to hire 3 qualified student interns for the 2027 season.

Job Requirements

Experience Requirements
Seeking a dedicated and motivated individual with the desire to gain as much experience in golf course maintenance industry.
Educational Requirements
Currently enrolled in a 2 to 4 year degree, or certificate program in turf management, or related field at an accredited university
Special Requirements
The Country Club of York is looking for individuals who possesses a passion for the turf industry, needs to have positive attitude, a strong desire to learn and to be a team player within the agronomy staff and clubhouse staff.   The Country Club of York is geared towards having a team/family atmosphere and we are looking for individuals that possess these traits.
