Wannamiosett is looking for a great team player who we can rely upon and have fun working with.  Course Description:

Wannamoisett Country Club is a private eighteen-hole, Donald Ross course designed in 1914. Ross described the famed course with “This is the best layout I have ever made. A fine course on 100 acres.”  Wannamoisett played host to the 1931 PGA Championship, and annually hosts the prestigious Northeast Amateur. The course is ranked #2 in the state and is consistently ranked as a top 100 classic course by Golf Digest. Wannamoisett prides itself on being one of the best conditioned courses in New England.
It is an exciting time at Wannamoisett as the club recently completed a renovation project and plans to continue implementing a Master Plan with architect Andrew Green.  The project’s goal was to restore Donald Ross’s original intent while still providing a challenge for modern golfers. The greens have been expanded to original shape and contours, bunkers were moved, and redesigned with Better Billy Bunker installed, fairway contouring was adjusted, new irrigation has been installed around greens and bunkers, several new tees were built and additional native areas were established. 
 

We will adjust the roll of this assistant position to fit the individual hired.  Whether you have a few things you want to work on before looking to make the move to a Superintendent position, or you may be fresh off seasonal internships and have a lot more to learn.  Either way we will adjust the responsibilities to match the person.  The assistant superintendent will play a key role in the overall development and maintenance of the golf course. Alongside the Superintendent and other assistants, you will be directly involved with providing the best possible conditions daily. This candidate will need to be comfortable performing in a high-paced environment that places a lot of attention on detail.  As a leader you will be expected to train, motivate, and set a proper example for the rest of the team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
•    Scheduling, training, and overall supervision of the day-to-day operation of the maintenance staff.
•    Provide and promote a safe work environment
•    Supervision of all chemical and fertilizer application 
•    Moisture management/ hand watering 
•    Managing, scheduling, and repair of the irrigation system
•    Equipment setup and management 
•    Using Task tracker and Playbooks to record and track labor expenses and chemical and fertilizer applications
•    Develop agronomic plans and budgets with other assistants and superintendent 
•    Plan, supervise, and be able to complete projects as assigned by the superintendent.
