1,500 acre private gated community offering a rare opportunity to work on not one, but two championship level golf courses, Pete Dye Course and Jack Nicklaus Course. Facilities hosting qualifiers for both the US Amateur and US Open in 2019. The Club is located just off Hilton Head Island. The Club has recently contracted course designer Andrew Green and has embarked on an aggressive master plan to improve the Nicklaus facility with construction anticipated for 2029. The project will focus on a reimagining of the championship course, short course, and practice facilities. The work will include greens reconstruction, new tees, construction of bunkers, regrassing all surfaces, and installation of a new irrigation system. Interns will be exposed to all levels of golf course operations, maintenance, and ultra dwarf bermuda greens management. Position requires daily interaction with department directors and course superintendents.
