Assistant Equipment Technician

Job Details

Reports to: Director of Agronomy, Equipment Manager, and Golf Course Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents

 

Definition: The Assistant Equipment Technician may on occasion perform the duties of an Equipment Operator during the morning if needed, and in the afternoon, assists the Head Equipment Technician with equipment maintenance and mower set-up in a manner to achieve the club’s extremely high level of quality and service expectation.  The Assistant Equipment Technician may serve in the Head Equipment Technician’s capacity during the vacation or absence of the Head Equipment Technician.

 

Status: Full Time - $25.00 - $30.00/hr

 

Duties:

·       Perform any Equipment Operator duties when needed.

·       Assist Head Equipment Technician with maintenance and repair of any golf course and grounds equipment.

·       Grind, back-lap, sharpen and set up reel cutting units for mowers.

·       Perform preventative maintenance and service on all equipment.

·       Troubleshoot operational issues and deficiencies of all equipment.

·       Order parts and repair materials when directed to by the Head Equipment Technician.

·       Free Lunches

·       Pay rate will be discussed during the interview process

·       All other duties deemed necessary by the Superintendent, Assistant, or Head Equipment Technician.

 

Employment Standards and Qualifications

·       Ability to understand oral and written instructions.

·       Good hand / eye coordination along with mechanical aptitude.

·       Ability to work in an outside environment that can have extremes in temperature.

·       Ability to lift a 50-pound bag of fertilizer and lift and maneuver a 75-pound mowing reel.

·       Ability to walk behind a mower for several hours at a time.

·       Require a working knowledge of the proper care and maintenance of all golf related maintenance equipment.

·       Require a valid South Carolina Driver’s License.

·       Ability to work weekend rotational schedule.
