Golf Course Superintendent

Willows Run Golf Club is seeking a Professional Golf Course Superintendent to manage profitable 45-hole facility in Western Washington. Owner just bought 2nd golf course and company is expanding, planning to buy 3rd course in the near future. Due to quality improvements, Willows has beat all-time high in profitability each of the last 5 years. This is a big opportunity for the right individual as we have raised greens fees for the first time in two years, meaning greater opportunity to increase wages from profit sharing.

Willows has an outstanding staff. Mangers include 1 extremely competent mechanic, 1 Assistant Superintendent and 2 Irrigation Technicians. We have a fully staffed greenkeeping team made of full time and seasonal employees as well and a number of experienced part time employees.

All of the equipment is owned outright and is mostly new or the newest models of equipment. Capital improvements budget for the maintenance department is $300K annually. New pump station 2025. Irrigation software upgrade to Cirrus Pro this year.

Position Overview
The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the overall maintenance, conditioning, and presentation of the golf courses.

This individual will lead and develop the agronomy team, manage budgets and resources, and implement best agronomic practices aligned with the club’s goals.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead all aspects of golf course maintenance, including turf health, irrigation, fertility programs, and pest management
• Execute agronomic plans that deliver consistent, high-quality playing conditions
• Oversee and continue to optimize recent capital improvements
• Manage and mentor the agronomy team, fostering a positive, accountable, and performance-driven culture
• Manage the department’s annual operating budget
• Ensure proper maintenance and operation of irrigation systems and equipment fleet
• Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
• Communicate effectively with club leadership regarding course conditions and projects
• Collaborate with the General Manager and leadership team to align course conditions with overall club strategy

Experience Requirements

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent ready to advance

• Strong knowledge of Poa annua turfgrass management

• Experience managing course renovation projects and capital improvements is highly valued

• Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on team development and retention

• Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Educational Requirements

·       Associate’s degree from an intensive two-year turf grass management program.

Special Requirements


Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.


Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.


Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required by course operations.
