Irrigation Technician

Crystal Springs Golf Resort is a premier four-season destination located in the scenic hills of northern New Jersey, home to six championship golf courses and world-class resort amenities. Our agronomy team takes pride in maintaining exceptional playing conditions while using sustainable and innovative practices. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Irrigation Technician to join our golf course maintenance team.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure continual optimal irrigation of all golf course areas
• Audit, test, and adjust irrigation systems to optimize coverage and minimize water deficiency
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, including repairing broken pipes, cleaning nozzles, and replacing faulty valves or sprinkler heads
• Diagnose leaks, program irrigation controllers, and ensure efficient water usage
• Take moisture meter readings and accurately report findings
• Perform irrigation repairs, including installation of sprinkler heads, pipes, valves, backflow devices, and digital controllers
• Perform hand watering during dry periods as needed
• Prepare, repair, and restore impacted turf areas
• Perform system winterization and oversee spring start-up operations

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of landscaping or golf course maintenance experience
• Strong knowledge of plumbing principles, hydraulics, and electrical system wiring and components
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new technical skills
• Willingness to work variable hours in varying weather conditions, including some weekends
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
