About Myopia Hunt Club

Located in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, approximately 30 miles north of Boston, Myopia Hunt Club was founded in 1875. Four of the first thirteen U.S. Opens were hosted at Myopia, and the club is currently recognized among Golf Digest’s Top 100 Golf Courses in the United States.

In addition to championship golf, Myopia offers seven tennis courts, four paddle courts, two racquetball courts, a swimming pool, kennels, and stables, making it a true full-service country club.

Internship Overview

Myopia Hunt Club is committed to providing championship playing conditions in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner while fostering a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented work environment.

This internship provides an excellent opportunity to develop the practical knowledge, technical skills, and hands-on experience necessary to build a successful career in the turfgrass industry. Interns will work closely with the golf course management team and gain experience in:

• Daily golf course preparation and maintenance
• Agronomic practices and turfgrass management
• Irrigation repair and maintenance
• Chemical and fertilizer calibration and application
• Record keeping and documentation
• Water management

2027 Projects

Interns will also have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working alongside the management team on several significant capital projects throughout the year. These projects include:

• Completion of a new golf course maintenance facility in the spring
• Beginning of the Gil Hanse golf course restoration project in August
• Expansion and renovation of greens and fairways
• Complete bunker reconstruction
• New tee construction

These projects will provide interns with a unique opportunity to experience both day-to-day golf course operations and large-scale golf course construction and restoration.

Successful interns will also have opportunities for continued professional development and potential post-graduate career advancement within the organization.

The internship start and end dates are flexible and can be adjusted to accommodate the applicant’s availability and academic schedule.
