Project Manager
Job Details
Texas Land Care is seeking a highly organized construction professional to lead complex, one-of-one luxury residential landscape projects from mobilization through final completion. The Project Manager owns schedule, field execution, quality, communication, change-order discipline, billing, and the financial performance of assigned projects.
Our work is performed in partnership with elite custom home builders and nationally recognized landscape architects. Projects may combine highly technical softscape, masonry, drainage, irrigation, lighting, steel, water features, site logistics, and custom details that demand disciplined planning and exceptional follow-through.
WHY A GOLF COURSE CONSTRUCTION LEADER MAY BE AN EXCEPTIONAL FIT
Golf course professionals who have overseen renovations, irrigation installations, drainage improvements, clubhouse or grounds construction, complex phasing, and multiple crews already understand the core demands of this position. You know how to plan around weather, protect quality under schedule pressure, coordinate specialized work groups, and solve field problems before they become expensive.
We welcome candidates from high-end golf course operations, landscape construction, custom residential construction, or similarly demanding project environments. A specific title matters less than a demonstrated ability to lead people, control details, communicate with sophisticated stakeholders, and bring technically complex work to a successful close.
THE ROLE
- Manage multiple complex landscape construction projects from internal handoff and preconstruction planning through punch list and closeout.
- Develop and actively manage project schedules, process flow, labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and site logistics.
- Provide regular field supervision to ensure crews and subcontractors work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with custom home builders, landscape architects, clients, vendors, and internal departments to maintain alignment and resolve issues quickly.
- Perform frequent job inspections, verify workmanship and completeness, and establish clear corrective-action plans when standards are not met.
- Track job costs, labor performance, commitments, billing status, and margin throughout the project rather than waiting until completion to identify problems.
- Identify, price, present, document, and sell change orders before additional work proceeds whenever possible.
- Ensure accurate and timely weekly billing, project documentation, status reporting, and communication of risks, decisions, and upcoming needs.
- Model accountability, urgency, professionalism, and a solutions-oriented approach while supporting a strong company culture.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Projects move forward with clear schedules, accurate information, and proactive communication rather than last-minute surprises.
- Builders, landscape architects, clients, and field teams view the Project Manager as a reliable source of answers and follow-through.
- Workmanship consistently meets Texas Land Care standards, and incomplete or deficient work is corrected quickly.
- Change orders are documented and approved, billing is current, and project financial performance is actively protected.
- Field teams understand the plan, have the resources they need, and are held accountable for safe and efficient production.
