Spend Your Summer Building Sports Fields

Innovative Turf Applications & Consulting, Inc. (ITAC Turf) is looking for motivated college students to join our team as Summer Sports Turf Interns. ITAC is one of Virginia's premier sports turf companies, with an exclusive focus on the construction, renovation, and maintenance of high-performance athletic fields.

For nearly 20 years, we've been putting turfgrass science into practice on athletic fields throughout Virginia and beyond.

As an ITAC intern, you'll work alongside experienced sports turf professionals and gain hands-on experience in the field — literally.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

This isn't a "get us coffee and mow grass" internship. You'll be involved in real projects and gain experience with:

•  Athletic Field Construction & Renovation
•  Laser & GPS Grading
•  Drainage Design & Installation
•  Sod Installation & Grow-In
•  Sprigging & Turfgrass Establishment
•  Mowing & Cultural Practices
•  Equipment Operation
•  Turfgrass Management & Agronomic Practices
•  Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
• Field Preparation & Project Execution

You'll also have the opportunity to operate and work around professional equipment including:

• Skid-steers
• Tractors and implements
• ABI Force & FieldPro equipment
• Laser grading systems
• GPS grading technology
• Specialized sports turf equipment

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for students who are:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Turfgrass Science, Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, Soil Science, Landscape Management, or a related field
• Hardworking and willing to learn
• Detail-oriented and able to solve problems
• Comfortable working as part of a team
• Interested in athletic fields, turfgrass, equipment, construction, and/or agronomy
• Willing to work outdoors and adapt to changing weather conditions
• Able to safely lift, carry, push, or pull 50–75 lbs.
• Able to frequently walk, bend, kneel, lift, reach, and climb during an 8-hour workday

Previous equipment experience is a plus, but not required. We'll teach you the rest.
