Vereens Fertilizers, a division of Vereens Turf Products, is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development & Production Manager for our Kingstree, SC fertilizer manufacturing facility.

This is a unique leadership opportunity within a well-established family-owned company serving the Golf, Sports Turf, Lawn Care, Retail, and Agricultural markets throughout the Southeast. We are looking for a hands-on leader who understands the importance of operational efficiency, production planning, customer relationships, and delivering high-quality fertilizer products during the demanding seasonal cycles of the turf industry.

Position Overview

The Business Development & Production Manager will oversee all aspects of granular fertilizer production while supporting customer growth and business development initiatives.

This role is responsible for managing the full manufacturing process, including raw material procurement, blending operations, inventory management, production scheduling, quality control, logistics coordination, and plant leadership. The position works closely with the Vereens sales team and customers to ensure product quality, consistency, and service expectations are exceeded.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable both on the plant floor and working directly with customers, distributors, golf course personnel, and turf professionals throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

Granular Fertilizer Production & Operations

• Oversee all day-to-day granular fertilizer manufacturing operations
• Manage production scheduling to meet customer demand and peak seasonal volume
• Coordinate raw material receiving, storage, and inventory management
• Maintain accurate finished goods inventory and efficient product flow
• Supervise blending, packaging, loading, and shipping operations
• Ensure product quality, consistency, and accuracy across all fertilizer blends
• Monitor and improve plant efficiency and operational performance
• Lead operational planning to successfully manage seasonal production demands
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs for plant equipment and vehicles
• Maintain safe, organized, and efficient plant operations

Leadership & Planning

• Lead and manage plant employees and daily workflow
• Establish production priorities and operational goals
• Utilize historical production and inventory data to improve forecasting and planning
• Support process improvements and future plant expansion projects
• Maintain compliance with company safety standards and operational procedures

Business Development

• Support customer growth initiatives across golf, sports turf, lawn care, retail, and agricultural markets
• Work alongside the Vereens sales team to strengthen customer relationships and identify new opportunities
• Attend trade shows, turf industry events, and customer meetings
• Support the continued expansion of private label and specialty fertilizer manufacturing programs

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in fertilizer manufacturing, turf, agriculture, industrial production, or related industries preferred
• Strong understanding of granular fertilizer production processes and inventory management
• Experience with manufacturing operations, production planning, and logistics coordination
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced seasonal production environment
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Mechanical aptitude and equipment management experience preferred
