Assistant Equipment Technician

Old Sawmill Golf Club is a brand new high-end private club located just outside of Charleston. This Tyler Rae design is dynamic and bold, and will no doubt be among the best clubs in the Southeast.

• The Assistant Equipment Tech will aid in the prevention and maintenance of a large fleet of
toro mowing equipment, along with 4 tractor, ventrac, 20 cushman carts, and several auxiliary
pieces. This individual will also aid in reel/bed knife grinding to allow for a superior cut.

• This person should have a desire to perform at the highest level each day. Beginning this fall,
our shop will begin construction with a tentative full move in by June 2027.

The right candidate will perform/manage the following:

-Work closely with Equipment Manager and Golf Course Superintendent, as well as Assistant Superintendents

-Assist with the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of all golf course maintenance
equipment

-Perform preventative maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations and departmental
schedules, as well as help ensure proper inventory 

-Sharpen, grind, and adjust reels and bedknives to maintain championship-quality cutting
performance

-Daily inspection of equipment to ensure safe operation before use

-Assist with equipment setup, adjustments, and calibration dictated by changing golf course
conditions

-Communicate equipment issues with Equipment Manager and Golf Course Superintendent

-Follow all safety regulations and procedures with regard to OSHA and Club procedures

-Help maintain and organize a clean and safe equipment maintenance facility.
