Stonegate Golf Club is pleased to announce an exceptional career opportunity for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
This position is a great opportunity for a motivated turf professional to further develop their skills while working alongside an experienced golf course maintenance team.
The Assistant Superintendent supports the daily management of golf course maintenance operations, including turf care, irrigation systems, chemical applications, and team leadership. Working closely with the Superintendent, this position plays a key role in maintaining the course to high standards of conditioning and playability.
Stonegate Golf Club, located in beautiful Kissimmee, FL, features a 36-hole championship golf course set among 100-year-old oak hammocks, lush greenery, and tranquil waterways. Our Club also offers three food and beverage venues: The Grill, a lively sports bar; Mosaics, a classic country club setting; and the Marketplace Bistro.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $55,000 – $60,000, depending on experience

Job purpose
The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. Under the Superintendent's supervision, the Assistant Superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths; supervises the maintenance and repair of motorized and other mechanical equipment; and does related work as required. The assistant superintendent may serve in the superintendent's capacity during his/her absence.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist the Superintendent in day to day operations of the facility.
- Supervise, train, and work with seasonal staff to build a solid team environment.
- Prepare and submit weekly employee schedules to ensure efficient use of employees.
- Helps monitor the course for disease pressure, moisture issues (both dry and wet), turf decline, and other pests.
- Must have the ability to make pesticide and fertilizer applications, calibrate equipment, properly document applications, keep an inventory, and the ability to take notes.
- Irrigation scheduling, repair, and maintenance of a Toro irrigation system with Osmac controllers and Lynx operating system.
- Knowledge and ability to properly hand-water turf.
- Attend and participate in weekly department and other periodic employee and member meetings.
- Conduct weekly facility walk through to ensure the facility is safe and presentable.
- Operate within all guidelines, policies, standards and constraints as established by Hampton Golf.

Job Requirements
Working knowledge of the maintenance of golf course tees, fairways and greens; seeding and maintenance practices for golf course turf; planting, cultivating, pruning, and caring for plants, shrubs and trees; characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners; herbicides and pest control methods and materials; drainage control methods; irrigation systems, including wells, pumps, and automatic controls.
Ability to schedule and supervise maintenance work to achieve the most efficient utilization of workers and equipment; prepare clear and concise reports; maintain effective employee and public relations.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
May require current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator.
