Assistant Mechanic
Job Details
POSITION SUMMARY: The Mechanic repairs and maintains all equipment associated with the Golf Course Maintenance Department by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lubricates and services all golf course maintenance equipment.
- Inspects equipment for operating deficiencies.
- Repairs and adjusts equipment.
- Maintains repair records on all equipment.
- Trains maintenance staff on the proper use of equipment and the correct maintenance methods.
- Demonstrates the use of new equipment.
- Maintains safety procedures for all equipment and keeps required records.
- Trains operators on the care and use of new equipment.
- Performs general overhaul and other preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Adheres to standards and guidelines, as set by Management.
- Other duties, as assigned by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance, Head Superintendent/Project Manager, Equipment Manager, AGM, COO
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in golf course maintenance.
- Proficiency in using or learning to use a grinder effectively.
- Experience working with commercial golf course and grounds equipment.
Qualifications/Skills
- Proficiency in using a grinder or willingness and ability to learn effectively.
- Ability to work with commercial golf course and grounds equipment
- Must be able to communicate effectively verbally.
- Ability to understand, interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
