Assistant Superintendent

Designed by Golf Course Architect Keith Foster, the Cyclone Golf Performance Center is a state-of-the-art practice facility for the men's and women's golf teams at Iowa State University. Opening in the fall of 2013, the 25-acre facility offers student-athletes all of the amenities necessary for developing their game. The expectation is to maintain playing conditions in a way that would be representative of their "tournament conditions" on a daily basis.

The facility includes 17 greens that are constructed based on classic design features from some of the most well-known architects in the game. 15 acres of bentgrass tees & fairways. A wide variety of bunker types. Multiple rough types that include bluegrass, tall fescue and fine fescue native areas. Golfers can utilize the facility as a driving range/practice facility or play designated "loops" for a more formal round of golf. A state-of-the-art clubhouse with heated hitting bays and an indoor putting green is where the teams complete their winter practice sessions.

We are searching for an individual to work directly with the Golf Course Superintendent and other staff members in all areas of daily maintenance at the facility. This position will also include routine maintenance practices throughout various properties that our company manages.

Applicants should expect to gain knowledge in all areas of turf maintenance. Staff management, irrigation repairs/scheduling, chemical & fertilizer applications, equipment operation, equipment maintenance and cultural practices to name a few. We are constantly completing various projects throughout the properties we manage; therefore, applicants should expect to gain knowledge in dirt work/grading, seeding, landscape projects and tree maintenance as well as whatever projects we may take on at any given time of the year.
