First Tee – Greater Richmond (FTGR) is a youth development organization that uses the game of golf and its inherent values to shape the lives of young people from all walks of life. We are strengthening the character of the community by providing programs that build resilience in our youth, teach critical life skills, and provide caring adult supervision in a safe environment.
The Tattersall Youth Development Center at the First Tee Chesterfield Golf Course is an 18 hole par 66 golf course. The golf maintenance team is responsible for all agronomic care of the property and daily setup for play.
First Tee – Greater Richmond is seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented, and dedicated individual to assume the role of Assistant Superintendent. This position reports to the Superintendent.
Above all, this person will convey First Tee’s brand image to all parties in the community – First Tee participants, parents, patrons, teachers, volunteers, donors, and staff.

The role of the Assistant Superintendent requires organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team. Responsibilities include:
- Managing day to day scheduling for crew members
- Managing greens moisture
- Understanding Toro Lynx software and basic irrigation needs
- Understanding of chemical applications and equipment calibration
- Ability to operate all equipment
- Ability to diagnose and repair irrigation
- Ability to diagnose and amend agronomic issues
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to any circumstance
- Sharp attention to detail and organization
- Professionalism when representing First Tee at local and national events
- Maintaining a valid Driver's License and Pesticide License
