Garden Manager
Job Details
Texas Land Care is seeking a polished horticultural professional to manage a portfolio of high-value residential landscapes. The Garden Manager serves as the primary client relationship manager and is responsible for property quality, portfolio financial performance, service coordination, communication, and enhancement growth.
Our properties are complex, highly detailed, and horticulturally demanding. They may include world-class turf, curated perennial gardens, specimen trees, seasonal rotations, sophisticated irrigation systems, plant-health programs, and custom outdoor environments maintained for discerning clients who notice the smallest details.
WHY A GOLF COURSE LEADER MAY BE AN EXCEPTIONAL FIT
Successful superintendents and assistant superintendents already understand exacting presentation standards, turf and horticultural judgment, irrigation, labor planning, weather-driven decision-making, safety, equipment, and the daily responsibility of delivering an exceptional property. Those skills transfer naturally to luxury residential estate stewardship.
The Garden Manager role adds direct client relationships, consultative sales, and responsibility for the financial health of an assigned portfolio. We welcome candidates from high-end golf course operations, luxury landscape maintenance, estate management, or similarly demanding grounds environments who are ready to pair technical expertise with customer leadership and business accountability.
THE ROLE
- Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of maintenance clients and provide consistent, responsive, and professional communication.
- Perform regular physical property inspections, identify deficiencies and opportunities, and develop clear action plans for crews and specialty teams.
- Direct the overall quality and service delivery of each property, coordinating maintenance crews, irrigation, plant health, seasonal color, enhancements, and other outdoor needs.
- Manage process flow, labor use, service scope, work tickets, job costing, billing support, and contract performance to ensure portfolio financial goals are met.
- Identify, estimate, present, and sell appropriate enhancement work that improves the property and provides meaningful value to the client.
- Generate repeat revenue from existing relationships while maintaining the trust required to remain the client's first call for anything outdoors.
- Coordinate closely with the Maintenance Division Manager, field leaders, administrative staff, vendors, and other Texas Land Care departments.
- Resolve service issues quickly, communicate commitments clearly, and follow through until the client and property are fully cared for.
- Maintain organized records, meet deadlines, and balance multiple properties and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Clients receive proactive communication, reliable follow-through, and a clear understanding of what their property needs and why.
- Assigned properties consistently meet Texas Land Care standards for horticultural health, presentation, detail, and overall care.
- Maintenance contracts are actively managed for quality, efficiency, retention, profitability, and appropriate enhancement growth.
- Enhancement opportunities are quoted accurately, sold professionally, and executed in a way that strengthens the client relationship.
- Crews and specialty teams receive clear direction, timely feedback, and the information required to perform successfully.
