Position Overview
The Golf Construction Superintendent / Project Manager serves as a key field leader responsible for the successful execution of golf course construction, renovation, and restoration projects throughout the United States.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands golf course construction and enjoys being in the field. The Project Manager will coordinate daily operations, lead field crews, manage schedules and production, communicate with clients and project partners, and ensure work is completed safely and to Total Turf's quality standards.
Our Project Managers have the opportunity to work on unique golf projects across the country while continuing to develop their leadership, technical, and project-management skills.
Travel to project sites throughout the United States is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day field operations on golf course construction, renovation, and restoration projects
- Coordinate crews, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and daily production
- Serve as a primary point of contact between Total Turf, golf course superintendents, club representatives, architects, consultants, and other project partners
- Read and interpret project plans, specifications, grades, and construction documents
- Coordinate project schedules and adjust field operations as conditions and priorities change
- Monitor production, labor, materials, and overall project progress
- Maintain project documentation including timesheets, material tracking, production reports, and other required records
- Ensure Total Turf quality standards are maintained throughout all phases of construction
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on every project
- Oversee proper use, care, and daily maintenance of project equipment
- Develop and mentor Assistant Project Managers and field team members
- Build strong relationships with clients and industry partners
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in golf course construction, renovation, restoration, or a closely related field
- Experience leading crews and coordinating field operations
- Strong understanding of golf course construction processes such as earthwork, grading, drainage, greens, tees, bunkers, irrigation, shaping, and grassing
- Ability to read plans, understand grades, and translate project specifications into field execution
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with golf course superintendents, architects, clients, and field personnel
- Experience operating construction equipment
- Spanish-speaking ability is a plus
- Valid driver's license
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States
