Golf Course Intern

Wexford is a gated private community located in Hilton Head Island, SC. It opened in 1983, and contains an 18 hole championship golf course, Tennis and pickle ball facility, two pools, croquet court, and 37 acre inland harbor with a lock system. In 2011 Arnold Palmer re-designed the golf course, and in 2020 the irrigation was upgraded to a rainbird two wire system. Wexford has celebration bermudagrass rough, zeon zoysia fairways and approaches, tif tuf and zeon tees, and champion ultra dwarf bermudagrass greens. The club is the host of the Wexford intercollegiate tournament every spring. We are searching to fill two intern positions this upcoming summer. If chosen, you can expect to assist the superintendent and assistant superintendents in the daily processes of mowing and course setup, fertilizing, chemical applications, budgetary planning, chemical inventory, irrigation repair, two aerifications, and weekly cultural practices during peak growing season. The desired individual will have a hard work ethic, great attention to detail, leadership, and desire to develop relationships within the maintenance team and the club.
