Position Summary

Miles of Golf is seeking a dependable, hands-on Grounds Superintendent to help lead the daily care, operation, and upkeep of our property. This position is responsible for making sure the grounds, range, customer activity areas, buildings, equipment, and staff are prepared each day to support a clean, safe, and high-quality guest experience.

This role requires someone who is comfortable moving between outdoor operations, staff leadership, basic facility maintenance, irrigation oversight, chemical application, and customer-facing areas. The Grounds Superintendent should be able to see what needs attention, organize the team around daily priorities, and personally jump in when work needs to be completed.

The ideal candidate is practical, organized, mechanically inclined, and able to lead a crew in a seasonal, fast-moving environment. Success in this role means the property looks sharp, the range operates efficiently, the Fun Center is ready for guests, irrigation and spray programs are handled properly, maintenance issues are addressed quickly, and staff members know what is expected of them each day.

Daily Property Operations

  • Oversee the daily readiness, cleanliness, safety, and appearance of outdoor areas, range areas, activity spaces, walkways, parking areas, landscaped areas, and customer-facing grounds.
  • Walk the property regularly to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, staffing gaps, irrigation issues, equipment problems, chemical or turf concerns, and areas needing cleanup or repair.
  • Set daily priorities based on weather, customer traffic, events, staffing, turf conditions, and overall business needs.
  • Coordinate work so the property remains clean, organized, safe, and ready for customers throughout the day.
  • Respond quickly to operational issues that affect customer experience, staff efficiency, facility function, or property appearance.

Range & Crew Leadership

  • Lead and schedule the team responsible for range support, ball picking, cleaning, stocking, and general outdoor operations.
  • Ensure range balls are picked, cleaned, staged, and available to meet customer demand throughout the day.
  • Train staff on safe equipment use, efficient work habits, customer awareness, and daily expectations.
  • Monitor work quality and follow up to make sure assigned tasks are completed properly and on time.
  • Adjust crew assignments throughout the day based on changing conditions, weather, lessons, events, and business volume.

Grounds, Irrigation & Outdoor Maintenance

  • Monitor turf, landscaping, irrigation, drainage, and general outdoor conditions to maintain a professional and well-kept property.
  • Operate, adjust, and troubleshoot irrigation systems to support turf and landscape health.
  • Identify leaks, broken sprinkler heads, dry areas, drainage concerns, pest issues, weed pressure, and other grounds-related problems.
  • Perform or coordinate seasonal grounds work including mowing, trimming, cleanup, planting, mulching, leaf removal, snow removal, salting, seeding, fertilizing, and general turf care.
  • Communicate larger repair needs, improvement opportunities, or recurring issues to management.

Chemical Application, Spray Programs & Compliance

  • Apply fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and other turf or grounds-related products safely and in accordance with label directions, company procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain proper records for chemical applications, spray schedules, product usage, safety documentation, and required compliance reporting.
  • Ensure all chemicals are stored, handled, mixed, applied, and disposed of properly.
  • Monitor turf, landscape, and facility areas for weeds, pests, disease, nutrient needs, and other conditions requiring treatment.
  • Maintain or obtain required chemical application, pesticide, or spray licenses/certifications as needed for the role.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling procedures when working with chemicals or spray equipment.

Facility & Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform and coordinate basic building and facility maintenance to keep work areas, customer areas, storage areas, and support spaces clean, safe, and functional.
  • Address routine maintenance needs such as minor repairs, lighting, fixtures, doors, signage, plumbing issues, painting, cleaning, and general upkeep.
  • Operate and maintain grounds equipment, range equipment, spray equipment, irrigation components, utility vehicles, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Complete routine equipment checks and communicate repair needs before they affect operations.
  • Maintain organized storage areas and monitor supplies, tools, parts, fuel, range balls, chemicals, fertilizer, spray materials, and maintenance supplies.

Fun Center & Guest-Ready Areas

  • Ensure customer activity areas are clean, safe, properly stocked, well-presented, and ready for daily use.
  • Monitor Fun Center conditions throughout the day and address issues that affect safety, appearance, equipment function, or guest experience.
  • Coordinate staffing and maintenance needs so customer-facing areas are supported during busy periods, events, weekends, and peak season.
  • Work with management and other departments to support special events, seasonal setup, and operational changes.
  • Maintain a service-minded approach while balancing behind-the-scenes maintenance and front-facing guest needs.

Scheduling, Training & Accountability

  • Create and manage staff schedules for assigned operational areas.
  • Plan staffing levels around seasonality, weather, customer traffic, events, spray schedules, maintenance needs, and daily workload.
  • Train new and returning staff on procedures, safety expectations, equipment use, chemical safety awareness, and quality standards.
  • Provide clear direction, feedback, and accountability to team members.
  • Lead by example through professionalism, reliability, and willingness to work alongside the crew.

Schedule

A typical work week will be 40-45 hours, 5 days. However, this position requires flexibility based on season, weather, staffing needs, spray schedules, maintenance priorities, and business volume. Early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours may be required during peak season, special events, and weather-related property needs.
