💧 Position Overview
The Irrigation Technician plays a key role in ensuring the health, playability, and appearance of the golf course through the maintenance, repair, and operation of the irrigation system. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, understands the unique challenges of desert turf management, and takes pride in precision and problem‑solving. Block system Irrigation knowledge is preferred but not required.

Job Requirements
• Inspect, maintain, and repair all irrigation components, including heads, valves, pumps, controllers, and lines.
• Monitor daily irrigation performance and make adjustments to ensure optimal water distribution.
• Assist in scheduling and programming irrigation cycles based on turf needs, weather conditions, and water conservation goals.
• Troubleshoot system issues such as leaks, electrical faults, pressure problems, and coverage inconsistencies.
• Perform routine audits to ensure system efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent on irrigation planning and course conditioning strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and system adjustments.
• Operate utility vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Support general golf course maintenance tasks as needed.
• Previous experience with golf course irrigation systems (Toro, Rain Bird, or similar) preferred.
• Strong understanding of irrigation hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, and water management principles.
• Ability to read and interpret irrigation maps, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including Las Vegas heat.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
• Valid driver’s license required.
⭐ Preferred Skills
• Experience with desert turfgrass (Bermuda, rye overseed, etc.).
• Familiarity with pump station operation and maintenance.
• Basic plumbing or electrical repair skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
