Highlands Golf Club is looking for a qualified Head Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the maintenance program at both beautiful 9-hole golf courses located near each other on the Oregon Coast.
The Head Golf Course Superintendent reports to the General Manager and is accountable for overseeing and actively participating in the overall maintenance of the golf courses including:
- Weekly mowing and landscaping schedules
- Irrigation of the golf course, including hand watering in summer, replacing damaged heads, managing pump and wells, and repairing system.
- Equipment maintenance including setting reels, backlapping, changing oil and spark plugs, keeping equipment logs, and other common vehicle maintenance.
- Managing budget and coordinating projects with the General Manager
- Spraying and fertilizing the golf course
- Managing, training, and hiring maintenance employees at both golf courses
- Maintaining quality standards and following all current safety regulations
- Coordinating with the GM to facilitate a fun, exciting, and positive future vision for the golf courses.
Highlands Golf Club and Manzanita Links are two beautiful boutique 9-Hole golf courses on the Oregon Coast. One is just 10 minutes and the other just 25 minutes from Seaside, Oregon. Both courses are enjoyed by thousands of locals and visitors each year and are well known as being two of the best hidden gems in Oregon. Job Requirements
Strong leadership and employee management skills.
Able to obtain Oregon pesticide license within 90 days.
Knowledge of poa greens/rye grass and current fertilizing/spraying pracitices.
Strong mechanical, irrigation, and spraying experience perferred.
