Trout National - The Reserve is a private 18-hole golf course that was constructed in 2024 and recently opened for play in April 2026. Construction of hospitality and adjacent areas continue for a grand opening in 2027. We are currently looking to fill four internship positions for 2027. Start dates can be flexible based on your school schedule and availability. Interns will be involved in all aspects of providing exceptional playing conditions at a brand new facility. The property includes two Watertronics pump stations, Rainbird irrigation system, new John Deere equipment fleet including GPS sprayers, and a newly constructed maintenance facility. The golf course includes vast native berming and sand waste areas, over 60 acres of sweeping bentgrass tee to green, a 7-hole short course, and a 14 acre practice facility. This is an opportunity to join an experienced, energetic staff as we continue to shape our maintenance program for a unique facility. Free, off-site housing is provided.
The right candidates will succeed in this position and get out of this experience as much as you are willing to put into it. Our goal is to bring you into our management team and expose you to the daily responsibilities of golf course management. Based on your knowledge and skills you come in with, we're committed to help you take the next step in your career. By the end of this internship, you will know whether or not you chose the right career path.
Interns will be exposed to:
- Management of new USGA bentgrass greens w/ TDR moisture meters
- Applying chemicals using various equipment such as sprayhawks and GPS
- Construction, irrigation install, turf and landscape establishment in ongoing hospitality areas
- Use of golf course cultivation equipment
- Advanced Task Tracker job board and Playbooks record keeping
- Use of Rainbird IC system
- Training in calibration and common math associated with applications
- Managing naturalized areas and waste bunkers
- Potential tournament volunteer opportunities
- Attendance to social and sporting events
Start and end dates are flexible.
Some positions are available through the fall if schedule allows.
