2027 Internship at Bayonne Golf Club

4 miles from Lower Manhattan on New York Harbor sits one of the area’s most exclusive golfing experiences, Bayonne Golf Club. Since opening in 2006, Bayonne Golf Club is consistently ranked among the best courses both in the state of New Jersey and Nationally. We are looking for a person with a strong work ethic and desire to advance within the industry. The selected candidate will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents. This is a hands-on roll encompassing all aspects of golf course maintenance. Including but not limited to.

• Moisture management for greens, tees, fairway, and roughs 
• Pesticide and fertilizer calibration and application
• Course and tournament set up
• Operation of all essential equipment
• Turfgrass establishment and recovery
• Irrigation and drainage system trouble shooting/repair
• Staff management
• Record keeping and budgeting 
• Cultural practices Including:
  • Aerification
  • Topdressing
  • Verticutting
  • Spiking 
  • DryJecting
  • Drill and fill

Interns will also be heavily involved in construction projects for 2027 and managing the 007XL greens that were soded in the fall of 2024. Bayonne Golf Club offers off site housing and the opportunity for advancement. Start and end dates are flexible. This is an excellent opportunity for a student attending Rutgers University. They could live in the off site housing while attending Rutgers.
