Job Purpose

Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club’s Assistant Equipment Mechanic supports daily operations of golf course maintenance through ensuring equipment is operational and effective. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys problem solving, and is looking to build a career in equipment management.

 

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of golf course equipment (electric, gas, and diesel)
  • Perform routine service tasks such as oil changes, tire repair/replacement, and lubrication
  • Support diagnostics and troubleshooting across hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Help manage preventative maintenance programs through equipment hour tracking
  • Prepare equipment daily for crew use, including fueling, inspections, and staging
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
  • Run errands and locate parts as needed
  • Assist repairing clubhouse maintenance units
  • Other duties as needed and assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Education
    • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Accredited technical training preferred
  • Experience
    • 3-5 years of maintenance experience required
    • Experience in 2-stroke, gas, diesel, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic preferred
  • Skills
    • Strong mechanical aptitude
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Organized, high attention to detail
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
    • Motivated, able to work independently
    • Spanish language skills preferred but not required

 

Work Schedule and Hours

The Greens & Grounds team maintains core operating hours of 6:00am to 2:30pm. Regular work schedule to be determined in collaboration with team within and beyond core operating hours. Requires regular early morning, weekend, and holiday availability.

 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Ability to lift, push, and pull parts and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds independently. Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling to access equipment. High level fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and visual acuity.

Work performed primarily in shop and on golf course in varying conditions (indoor, outdoor, weather exposure, varying terrain, etc.). Frequent exposure to high decibel sounds. Regular contact with fumes and chemicals (gasoline, diesel, hydraulic oils, fertilizers, pesticides, etc.).

 

 

Pay Rate

This is an hourly position ranging from $30-35 per hour. Pay commensurate with experience and qualifications.
