Jackson, New Jersey

Reports To: Golf Course Superintendent

Metedeconk National Golf Club is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our management team.

This is an opportunity to become part of a premier 27-hole private club that continues to invest in both its golf course and its employees. Beginning September 1, 2026, the club will begin installation of a new Rain Bird irrigation system, providing the successful candidate with valuable hands-on experience in one of the most significant projects in golf course management.

If you’re looking for a position that offers responsibility, professional growth, and the opportunity to become a better manager—not just a better technician—we’d like to hear from you.

About Metedeconk National

Metedeconk National features 27 championship golf holes, an expansive practice facility, and a membership committed to providing exceptional playing conditions while continuing to invest in the long-term success of the golf course operation.

The club has hosted multiple Korn Ferry Tour events and is committed to providing the resources, equipment, and support necessary for a first-class maintenance operation.

Position Overview

Working alongside the Superintendent and management team, the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will be involved in all aspects of golf course maintenance and daily operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Crew leadership, training, and supervision
  • Daily course setup and conditioning
  • Irrigation scheduling and water management
  • Pesticide and fertilizer applications
  • Moisture management
  • Tournament preparation
  • Project planning and coordination
  • Participation in all phases of the new irrigation system installation

Our Management Philosophy

Our goal is simple: develop well-rounded Golf Course Superintendents.

Assistant Superintendents are trusted with meaningful responsibility and are encouraged to make decisions, lead people, solve problems, and take ownership of projects. Leadership responsibilities are intentionally shared and rotated throughout the season so every Assistant gains experience in every area of the operation.

We don’t believe in creating specialists—we believe in developing complete golf course managers.

Our objective is to build a versatile management team where every Assistant is capable of stepping into any role when needed. That approach strengthens the operation while providing each individual with a broader and more valuable professional experience.

Questions are encouraged, ideas are welcomed, and mistakes are viewed as opportunities to learn. We believe the best Assistant Superintendents become great Superintendents by being trusted with responsibility, receiving constructive feedback, and continually challenging themselves to improve.

Former Assistant Superintendents have advanced into Golf Course Superintendent positions, and we take pride in helping people prepare for the next step in their careers. We also recognize that career moves are important decisions, and we value professionalism throughout the hiring process, allowing successful candidates to transition responsibly from their current roles.

The Operation

Managing 27 championship holes and an expansive practice facility provides an outstanding learning environment.

Assistant Superintendents have opportunities to oversee individual sections of the property while working closely with the Superintendent and fellow Assistants. The size and diversity of the operation provide experience that extends well beyond routine daily maintenance.

Our maintenance facility is well-equipped, and the club continues to invest in the equipment, tools, and technology needed to perform work efficiently and safely.

We also believe in taking care of our employees. Team members are provided with a comprehensive uniform program that includes work shirts, pants, hats, jackets, rain gear, and seasonal outerwear.
