Floridian National Golf Club is seeking a driven, energetic, and passionate Assistant Superintendent to join our growing Agronomy Team. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to work alongside the Superintendent and Senior Assistant Superintendent to deliver championship-level course conditions and an exceptional experience for our members and guests.
The Assistant Superintendent will play a key role in daily operations including team leadership, project planning and execution, irrigation management, and course setup. This is an exciting time to join Floridian National, as the club is currently undergoing a greens renovation and significant landscape enhancement project. This opportunity provides valuable experience and exposure to elite golf course construction and agronomic practices.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Lead, develop, train, oversee, and motivate the golf course maintenance team; provide clear direction and on the job coaching.
• Maintain turf health through proper irrigation, fertilizer, mowing, cultural, and pest management practices.
• Inspect the course regularly and recommend, plan, and execute routine maintenance.
• Assist the management team with planning, scheduling, and communicating all operations throughout the season and summer practices. (Course set up, hand watering, moisture management, irrigation troubleshooting, regular maintenance operations).
• Optimize irrigation and drainage systems and assist in repairs, coverage, and nozzle selection to ensure firm and quality turf conditions.
• Assist with fertilizer and chemical inventory and accurate applications.
• Complete daily scouts for pest management implementation and quality inspections.
• Coordinate with golf operations to prepare the golf course for daily play, events, and tournaments.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices and contribute to a strong, positive work environment.

Job Requirements
• Knowledge of turfgrass cultural practices, irrigation systems, drainage, pesticide/fertilizer use, and general golf course equipment and maintenance practices.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (word, outlook, excel), task tracker and Toro Lynx irrigation systems (preferred).
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; ability to work collaboratively with staff and club leadership.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain Florida Pesticide/applicators license within 90 days.
