Heritage Club in Mason, Ohio (Just north of Cincinnati) is Currently seeking an Equipment Manager to join its agronomy team. Heritage Club is a private 18 hole club who's identity is centered around its golf course. With bent grass USGA greens and and Bent/Poa fairways and tees, Heritage Club maintains elevated playing conditions in a challenging growing environment, and the Equipment Manager plays a vital role.
Heritage Club has invested heavily into the maintenance of the property with several enhancements over the past 24 months, most notably committing to an equipment lease that sets up the club and agronomy team for success. The lease package includes:
- 19 medium duty utility carts
- 4 heavy duty utility carts
- 4 fairway mowers with an extra set of reels
- 16 walk mowers of various sizes for greens, tees and approaches
- 2 GPS Sprayers
- 2 new tractors and an excavator
- Aerification Equipment
- New shop enhancements including a new 2 post and table lift
- New Foley Grinders
A successful Equipment Manager can expect to join an agronomy team with a culture of collaboration and ownership. The Equipment Manager reports directly to the Superintendent and collaborates with the Assistant Superintendents. A successful Equipment Manager will oversee and manage the complete maintenance plan of the entire equipment fleet and maintenance shop. The Equipment Manager will train and develop the Equipment Technician, a position that spends their time in the shop and on the golf course helping with maintenance.
The ideal candidate will well versed in modern reel mower technology and maintenance practices, diesel and gas engine repair and maintenance, hydraulic system troubleshooting, and electrical system knowledge and ability to trouble shoot utilizing electrical schematics.
The agronomy team places an emphasis on collaboration, and this position is critical. The Equipment manager must have the ability to build a reputation with the staff of being fair and trustworthy so that their is mutual respect, as well as the ability to properly plan their time to schedule equipment down time for maintenance without affecting management schedules.
