Position Summary:

The Golf Course Equipment Technician, along with the Equipment Manager, will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of golf course and landscape equipment, such as specialized mowers, aeration tools, sprayers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, trimmers, and utility vehicles. The Golf Course Equipment Technician requires someone who is motivated, who would strive to do their finest work, and be part of the team in producing championship golf course conditions.

Essential Duties:

  • Follow preventive maintenance schedules, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and fluid checks, following the manufacturer's specifications and maintenance schedules.
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in machinery and equipment, using diagnostic tools, troubleshooting techniques, and repair manuals.
  • Document maintenance activities, inspection findings, and repair records accurately in maintenance logs and equipment records.
  • Monitor equipment performance, identify potential issues or wear patterns, and recommend adjustments or replacements of parts to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and inspections to identify the root causes of equipment malfunctions, utilizing diagnostic software, electronic testing equipment, and mechanical expertise.
  • Follow safety protocols, procedures, and regulations governing equipment maintenance and repair, including lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and safe work practices.
  • Conduct safety inspections of equipment, identify safety hazards or deficiencies, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts, consumables, and supplies required for equipment maintenance and repair activities, ensuring adequate stock levels to support ongoing operations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a mechanic, with hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic codes to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, electronic testing equipment, and computerized diagnostic software to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions accurately.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and customer service, with a focus on delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services.
  • Vocational training or certification in gas or diesel mechanics, equipment repair, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
