Job Details
The Head Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the maintenance of the golf courses and grounds at the property, delivering exceptional playing conditions in a warm-weather environment. This role directs turf management, irrigation, equipment, and the grounds team, and manages agronomic programs, budgets, and environmental compliance. The Head Golf Course Superintendent contributes directly to course quality, member and guest satisfaction, and the protection of the property's landscape assets. Through strong leadership, this position keeps the courses in outstanding condition.
DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
-Direct the maintenance of the golf courses, turf, and grounds to high playing standards.
-Develop and manage agronomic, fertilization, and pest management programs.
-Lead, schedule, and develop the golf maintenance team.
-Manage irrigation systems and water use.
-Develop and manage the department budget, equipment, and inventory.
-Ensure safe handling, storage, and application of chemicals in compliance with regulations.
-Coordinate courses’ conditions with golf operations and events.
-Oversee equipment maintenance and the maintenance facility.
-Ensure environmental and safety compliance.
-Administer performance management and recognition fairly, in partnership with Talent and Culture.
-Monitor courses conditions and adjust programs to weather and play.
-Perform other duties as requested by management.

Job Requirements
-Five or more years of golf courses maintenance experience, including supervisory experience.
-Strong knowledge of turf management, irrigation, and equipment.
-Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
-Experience managing budgets and environmental programs.
-Degree or certification in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Ability to obtain and maintain a pesticide applicator license or certification as required by the applicable jurisdiction.
-Bilingual English and Spanish
Preferred Qualifications:
-Certification from a recognized golf or turf organization.
-Move throughout the golf courses and grounds for extended periods.
-Operate and inspect grounds equipment.
-Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
-Work outdoors in all conditions with sustained exposure to heat, sun, and seasonal weather consistent with the property's climate.
Salary Range
From $90,000 to $105,000 per year
