About Aquatrols/Aura Research Farm:
The Aquatrols Company is the world leader in the development of cutting-edge surfactants and other specialty technologies that maximize the effectiveness of water and inputs in the professional turfgrass and horticultural markets. Aquatrols is currently seeking a motivated individual to manage and maintain our in-house research farm, located in Monroeville, NJ.
Aura Research Farm is a 10-acre facility that allows us to evaluate the performance of our products and have a greater understanding of how they work before they are brought to university or real-world testing. We are currently in the planning phase of facility expansion and renovation.
Position Overview:
The Farm Manager is responsible for the general management, maintenance and upkeep of the entire property and equipment. This is a hands-on, working position that will require the individual to be involved in the execution of daily tasks.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the turf industry, strong work ethic and ability to prioritize tasks on a daily basis, a collaborative team player with good communication skills (verbal and written), is trustworthy and accountable.
Property Overview:
- (4) 18,000 sqft plots, consisting of different turf species
- Kentucky bluegrass/Perennial ryegrass blend
- Creeping bentgrass
- Bermudagrass
- Zoysiagrass
- Golf complex consisting of:
- Creeping bentgrass putting green
- Ultradwarf Bermudagrass putting green
- Zoysiagrass fairway
- Farmhouse
- Meeting room/offices
- “Dirty lab” – for product mixing and trial setup
- 1,500 sqft. Storage building/shop
- Pavilion area for company/client events
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of multiple types of grass (warm and cool season)
- Irrigation system operation and maintenance
- Pesticide and fertilizer planning and application
- Planning and implementation of cultural practices (aeration, topdressing, verticutting, etc.)
- Operate, maintain and oversee equipment and machinery
- Office & building upkeep and maintenance
- Support Research and Development Team with trial applications, planning, record keeping, data collection and other tasks related to product trials
- Ensure compliance with State and Federal safety and environmental regulations
- Hiring and training maintenance staff
- Planning and oversight of construction/renovation projects

Job Requirements
• Self-starter, able to manage your own time
• Strong work ethic
• Strong knowledge of turfgrass management practices, principles, and agronomics
• New Jersey pesticide applicators certification, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform physical labor, stand, walk for extended periods when necessary
