SECOND ASSISTANT GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT
Metedeconk National Golf Club | Jackson, New Jersey
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour + overtime | Full-Time, Year-Round

An Opportunity to Build Your Career - Your Way

Metedeconk National Golf Club is seeking a motivated individual to join our agronomy team as a Second Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.

Located in Jackson, New Jersey, Metedeconk is a premier 27-hole private golf facility offering an exceptional environment to learn, develop, and advance within the golf course management profession.

This position is designed around a simple philosophy:

The more you invest in your development, the more opportunities you create for yourself.

We believe that career growth should be driven by initiative, ability, experience, and performance - not simply by a job title or years of service.

Whether you are beginning your career or looking to take the next step, we will provide the tools, guidance, and opportunities to help you succeed.

How far you take those opportunities is largely up to you.

What Makes This Opportunity Different?

We recognize that successful turf professionals have different goals, priorities, and career ambitions.

Some prefer a consistent schedule and a healthy balance between work and personal life. Others are eager to take on additional hours, participate in more projects, and accelerate their professional development.

We believe there is room for both.

Our hourly compensation structure provides transparency and rewards additional time worked through overtime compensation, while allowing greater scheduling flexibility when operational conditions permit.

Those who actively pursue additional training and experience will have opportunities to expand their technical knowledge, gain leadership experience, and prepare for future advancement.

We focus on the quality of the work, the willingness to learn, and the contribution each individual makes - not simply how long someone stays on the property.

The Experience

Our Second Assistant will work directly with the Superintendent and assistant management team, gaining exposure to a comprehensive agronomic and maintenance program.

- Daily golf course maintenance, conditioning, and setup
- Fertilizer and pesticide applications
- Irrigation operation, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Moisture management and agronomic data collection
- Cultural practices, including aerification, topdressing, and cultivation
- Crew organization and leadership development
- Tournament preparation and course presentation
- Golf course construction and improvement projects
- Hands-on exposure to a major Rain Bird irrigation installation across our 27-hole facility

The position offers involvement in nearly every aspect of golf course management, with responsibilities tailored to experience, demonstrated ability, and professional interests.

You will be challenged to develop, but you will not be expected to manage the entire operation.

Our goal is to provide meaningful responsibility, practical training, and a clear opportunity to grow.
