Position Overview
The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the overall maintenance, conditioning, and presentation of the golf course and surrounding grounds. This role leads all agronomic operations and plays a critical part in delivering a high-quality playing experience aligned with club expectations and Heritage standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead all aspects of golf course maintenance, including turf health, irrigation, fertility programs, and pest management
• Develop and execute agronomic plans that deliver consistent, high-quality playing conditions
• Oversee and continue to optimize recent capital improvements, including bunkers and drainage systems
• Manage and mentor the agronomy team, fostering a positive, accountable, and performance-driven culture
• Prepare and manage the department’s annual operating and capital budgets
• Ensure proper maintenance and operation of irrigation systems and equipment fleet
• Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
• Communicate effectively with club leadership and members regarding course conditions and ongoing projects
• Collaborate with the General Manager and leadership team to align course conditions with overall club strategy

Job Requirements
• Previous supervisory experience in a club or golf course setting.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
• Have a basic understanding of the rules of golf.
• Be up to date on federal, state and local laws on golf course operations.
• Administrative and executive ability, especially critical in problem-solving and decision-making.
• Knowledge of ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
• Associate’s degree from an intensive two-year turf grass management program.
• Golf Course Superintendent Association of America (GCSAA), class A.
• Pesticide Application certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Able to meet and perform physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
• Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.
