For the past two decades, Green Start Academy has helped advance the careers of hundreds of assistant golf course superintendents.
The application period for this year’s event is now open as Green Start enters its third decade of service to the next generation of golf course superintendents.
Presented by John Deere and Envu, the 21st annual GSA is scheduled for Dec. 8-11 at Pinehurst Resort. It is the sixth year the event has been held at Pinehurst.
The program remains committed to investing in the next generation of industry leaders and equipping participants with the tools they need to succeed in an evolving and growing golf industry. In this immersive educational and networking experience, attendees will participate in mentor-led presentations, panel discussions and collaborative learning sessions designed to encourage the exchange of industry-best practices and support long-term professional development.

“Green Start Academy continues to create meaningful opportunities for the current generation of assistant superintendents by fostering growth both personally and professionally,” said Kim Ehasz, global manager of market development and strategy at John Deere. “We are proud to continue our support of this impactful program that helps emerging leaders build valuable industry connections, learn from experienced mentors and prepare for the next stage of their careers.”
Through collaborative experiences and focused leadership development, Green Start Academy continues to help prepare assistant superintendents for long-term success within the golf course management industry. Applications for this year’s program will be accepted through Aug. 1. Those interested can apply for a spot in the 2026 class on the Green Start Academy website.
“Green Start Academy reflects what’s possible when industry partners come together with a shared commitment to education, innovation and long-term success,” said Jeff Kwiatkowski, head of turf and ornamental for Envu. “We’re incredibly proud to support this program and the talented assistant superintendents it brings together each year. Their dedication inspires us, and we look forward to seeing how they will help shape the future of the game.”
