Audubon International recently named Ken Benoit as its interim chief executive officer.
A former superintendent, including 18 years at GlenArbor Golf Club in Bedford Hills, New York, Benoit has been director of Audubon International’s Signature Sanctuary Certification Program since August.
Benoit has more than 30 years of environmental leadership and golf industry expertise. A graduate of the University of Detroit and Michigan State University, Benoit assisted with the development of the GCSAA’s national BMP template and facilitated the creation of 13 statewide BMP templates. He also helped multiple golf facilities adopt their own facility BMP programs.
His executive experience includes serving as president of both the Metropolitan GCSA chapter and the New York Golf Course Foundation, where he later became the organization’s first Executive Director (2020-24). He also been a guest lecturer at Penn State and a speaker at regional and national conferences.
His three-plus decades experience in the industry includes renovation and construction projects, government relations and regulatory issues, and environmental outreach and education.
