For golf course superintendents and sports field managers looking for another tool to control a host of common turf diseases, Harrell’s recently launched ProtectMAX Flutolanil fungicide.
With the active ingredient benzamide, ProtectMAX Flutolanil is a systemic fungicide for control of Basidiomycete diseases on turf, including brown patch, brown ring patch, fairy ring, gray snow mold, large patch, leaf and sheath spot, pink patch and red thread.
According to the label, which includes a caution warning, ProtectMAX Flutolanil is safe for use on Kentucky bluegrass, annual bluegrass, annual and perennial ryegrass, red fescue, tall fescue, bentgrass, Bermudagrass, zoysiagrass, and St. Augustine grass.
ProtectMAX Flutolanil also makes an excellent tank mix partner when spraying to control other diseases.
“This active has long been a staple for fairy ring management,” said Paul Giordano, Ph.D., Harrell’s director of agronomy, “and fits perfectly into existing fungicide programs as a unique SDHI to manage other diseases like Waitea patch, large patch, mini ring, and brown patch.”
Harrell’s is a distributor of branded fungicides, herbicides and insecticides, and also manufactures its own line of custom-blended fertilizers, specialty liquids, and wetting agents.
