The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has granted label registration to OpteraPro DUO LC and OpteraPro DUO GC insecticides from Nufarm.
With the active ingredients bifenthrin and chlorantraniliprole, the two new products are registered for fast-acting and long-lasting control of many common surface and subsurface insect pests such as ants, ticks and fleas.
“As pest pressure evolves across market settings and time constraints remain a key management factor, OpteraPro DUO insecticides offer a convenient, economical and effective single-application solution for a broad spectrum of pests,” said Jamie Heydinger of Nufarm’s lawn care segment.
OpteraPro DUO GC is the restricted use pesticide label for golf, greenhouse and nursery professionals. It is labeled for control of Asiatic garden beetle, black turfgrass ataenius, European chafer, green June beetle, Japanese beetle, May/June beetles, Northern masked chafer, Oriental beetle, southern masked chafer, armyworm, cutworm, sod webworm, annual bluegrass weevil, Bermudagrass mite, billbugs (adult), chinch bugs, European crane fly (larvae), mole crickets, spittlebugs (two-lined), ants, nuisance, centipedes, chiggers, crickets, earwigs, fleas, grasshoppers, leafhoppers, mealybugs, millpedes, pillbugs, sowbugs and ticks.
OpteraPro DUO LC is a non-restricted-use option for lawn, landscape and sports turf and is formulated for control of surface turf pests such as caterpillars, billbugs and chinch bugs, as well as soil pests like white grubs and mole crickets. It also controls more than 39 ornamental pests in landscape settings and eliminates nuisance insects including ants, ticks, fleas, earwigs, centipedes, mealy bugs, crickets, spiders and more.
