For turf managers looking to make the task of spraying as efficient as possible, Playbooks for Golf has updated its Coverage software to be compatible with the John Deere Operations Center through the John Deere API services.
Playbooks Coverage is used by superintendents at more than 1,000 golf courses. Building upon existing API connections with labor software and John Deere PRO Golf, this update introduces a two-way data sync that eliminates double entry for spray applications. Customers of Playbooks and John Deere can build precise spray programs, inventories and tank mixes directly within Playbooks Coverage and push them to the rig monitor as a ready-to-run work plan.
The software includes a built-in math translation engine that automatically converts golf applications into the specific agricultural metrics required by machinery, minimizing the chance of human error. Once the application is finished, the “Get Actuals” feature pulls the exact rig-logged flow meter data back into Playbooks for effortless compliance and inventory deduction.
Founded in 2008, Playbooks for Golf offers an array of communication and technology products/services that includes:active
- Playbooks Coverage — a turn-key chemical and fertilizer tracking system
- Compliance Services — material safety data sheets, product labels and PULA Bulletin requirements
- ezpins — monitors agronomic conditions to simplify pin placement locations
- pbcoach — staff training software
- SandPath — audits and stores bunker data
- Conditions — allows superintendents to communicate with golfers in real-time about course status
of the golf course - Career Materials — career-development services
- Playbooks Mapping — digital and easily updated mapping for all aspects of the golf course
- PractiShot — provides daily yardage to golfers through a variety of platforms.
The software update can help superintendents and other users make the most efficient use of their time, a valuable commodity at facilities where adequate labor might be in short supply.
“Manually replicating tank mixes and spray schedules across multiple platforms wastes valuable time for turf managers,” said Matt Leverich, CEO of Playbooks for Golf. “By establishing this automated, two-way communication with John Deere Operations Center™, we are completely removing the administrative friction. Turf managers can plan the work, push it directly to the spray rig, and verify exact application volumes with a single button click.”
